Considered one of the country’s leading designers, industry magazine editors have dubbed Cohler the “Mixmaster” for his use of contemporary materials, which, juxtaposed with classical elements, give his interiors a jolt of unusual color and texture.

Cohler is proud to be included in recent Elle Décor’s A-List issue as one of the Top 25 Interior Designers in the United States. He is also included in House Beautiful’s issue on “America’s Top 100 Interior Designers” and was designated as one of the country’s fourteen “best of the best.” The IFDA awarded Cohler with its Circle of Excellence Award and both Traditional Home and the D&D in New York have named him Designer of the Year.

Cohler and his team have designed and renovated Residential and Commercial projects throughout the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean for the past 20 years including many homes and apartments, lobbies, as well as 38 stories of public space in two apartment buildings, medical offices, a large day spa, an upstate museum and boutique office!

A trained art historian and contributing writer to many shelter magazines and The New York Times, Cohen is working on his next book – “Cohler on Art”.  Developers on both coasts have hired Cohler to design and brand residential projects including floor plans, interiors, landscaping, amenities and public spaces. His firm’s latest project, the townhouses and apartments at 215 Sullivan Street sold out before completion setting a price record for lower Greenwich Village.  Cohler serves on the board of directors’ of Manhattan’s Museum at Eldridge Street and has donated his time to the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island; created several rooms for the Kips’ Bay Boy’s and Girl’s Club; the Susan G. Komen Holiday House; and Sothebys Showhouse. He also underwrites a scholarship program that sends college students abroad in their junior year, and supports several arts organizations and environmental causes.
