Interior Design Giants’ followers, how is today treating you? I hope you had a wonderful and creative weekend!
Today we’ll go on a bit about nightstands. Yes, we all have one in our rooms, but do we have the right one?
When it comes to bedroom decor, nightstands are as necessary as they are stylish. A place to set the alarm clock, cell phone and lamp, they can also hold favorite books and magazines that are read before bed. Yet often these small furnishings get overlooked.
But what if you’re looking to make a design statement? Nightstands can reinforce your style of choice, such as glamorous, earthy or modern. As you’ll see in the images below, they can even solidify a bedroom color scheme
This one here is an amazing work of art – Brooklyn, by Boca do Lobo. Its high-gloss black lacquer finish and subtle leather accents are as elegant as the classic touch this piece can give to your home. Brooklyn is also available in white and lends a unique decorative touch to your home décor.
Two-tone nightstands get noticed. For example, the white pieces in the room above have dark wooden bases that keep these furnishings from disappearing against white walls and light carpeting.
Looking for a geometric touch to complement your Hollywood Regency-style bedroom? The gold detailing on the nightstand in the next image perfectly combines angles and lines in a design that mirror the room’s pillow patterns.
In the room above, it’s hard to tell where the headboard ends and nightstand begins. The result: a unified space with plenty of room for surface-top decor.
A metallic finish on the nightstands below serves as a cool-toned complement to the warm beige of bedding. Simple yet stylish, these nightstands speak for themselves without overpowering other interior details, such as the vertical gardens hanging above them.
Two layers of shelving are a key feature of the built-in nightstand above, which extends from the headboard of the clean-lined bed. A contrast between dark and light materials adds depth to this modern room!
The nightstand above is powerful with its solid wooden finish. Yet the pieces below are light and airy, thanks to the strategic use of chrome and metal. And they certainly aren’t short on storage space, although cramming them with clutter would definitely detract from their style!
We end with a wide wall-mounted nightstand that is lengthy enough to double as a desk. In this modern room, the piece holds a lamp, a vase of flowers, and other objects of interest. Long, lean and chic, this nightstand brings out the darker tones of the space.
Why go with wall-mounted nightstands? Because they’re stylish, they’re unexpected, and they free up space below for other items, such as extra cushions.
